Recaps of the CACC baseball team’s series versus Marion and CACC softball’s two-game series against Southern Union are as follows:

CACC sweeps Marion

The CACC Trojans baseball team completed a three-game sweep of Marion Military Institute over the weekend.
In game one, the Trojans downed the Tigers 5-0 behind seven strong innings from Jamie Patterson, who struck out five.
In game two, CACC’s John Michael Knight fanned seven, and  Ben Hall had three RBIs in a 8-2 Trojans win.
In game three, Paul Young sat down 11 Marion batters, and Joey Lewis had two RBIs in a 3-0 victory. The Trojans now stand at 29-13 on the year.

Trojans split at So. Union

The CACC Trojans softball team went one up and one down during a home weekend series against Southern Union.
In game one, CACC starter Lindsay Broome was roughed up and chased in the first inning as the Trojans lost game one 8-3.
In game two, CACC  (31-8)rebounded on the strength of an eight-run fifth inning to overtake Southern Union 8-7.
Alyssa Kornegay started game two and went the distance.
She allowed seven runs but struck out 11 batters.
Robyn Wallace had two RBIs in the game.
