Dixie Sailing Club hosted the Regional 3 Championship races for Catalina 22 sailboat on Lake Martin Saturday and Sunday at Wind Creek State Park.

Justin Chambers, from Lake Lanier, Ga., the No. 1 Catalina 22 sailor in the U.S., won the Gold Fleet division, which qualifies him to compete in the national championships. Chambers has won the national Gold Fleet title for six consecutive years in his career.

Winn Story and Doug Thome served as Chambers  crew members his boat, “Buckee.” Jim Crane of Rome, Ga., won the Silver Fleet Regional 3 title, which automatically moves him up to the Catalina 22 Gold Fleet for life.

Here Chambers, wearing a red hat and jacket and hanging off the side of his boat, is about to round a turn in the race course marked by a big orange buoy.
