BRHS alum wins SEC Pitcher of the WeekPublished 11:22am Wednesday, April 10, 2013
Former Benjamin Russell Wildcats’ and current Mississippi State hurler Kendall Graveman has been named the SEC’s pitcher of the week.
The senior right-hander’s honor comes off the heels of his second straight complete game performance in conference play.
Currently, Graveman has compiled a 4-2 record for the Bulldogs, with a 1.99 ERA.
In his most recent outing, Graveman put the clamps on the Florida Gators, allowing two hits in a 2-0 victory.
Graveman struck out two and walked two, using groundball-inducing pitching to keep the Gators’ lineup off balance.
A co-captain for 16th-ranked Bulldogs (26-9, 5-7 SEC), Graveman has now thrown 19 consecutive scoreless innings against Florida.
This is the first time a Bulldogs player has won the SEC Pitcher of the Week award this season, and it is the second time Graveman has earned the honor.
