Cloud Nine to move to larger building

Published 11:33am Thursday, April 4, 2013

Cloud Nine will be moving soon, but patrons won’t have to travel far to visit the new location.

The boutique, which has been in its current location at 49 Main Street for 14 years, will be moving across the street and a few doors down to the former MACDAVID & CO building.

Cloud Nine owner Sarah Neighbors said she expects the move to occur at the end of the month.

“We are aiming to be in and open by the first of May,” Neighbors said. “We are going to try not to close. We may have to close for a day or two, but hopefully we will be able to leave some sale items over here as we move. We may not have to close at all – we just have to see how things work out.”

Neighbors said that the owners of the building have been applying fresh coats of interior paint and are cleaning up the floors to prepare for their new tenant.

Though the previous location has been good to them, Neighbors said the move is advantageous for the shop.

“It is a little big bigger and a little nicer as well,” Neighbors said. “It has a larger office and kitchen, more storage and two dressing rooms.”

The boutique, which offers women’s apparel, baby gifts and clothing and home décor, doesn’t plan on changing much about what the store sells.

“We will pretty much have the same products,” Neighbors said. “Depending on the space, we may add some things, maybe some more clothes or gift items.”

From now until the move out date, Neighbors said they will be offering new sales every week.

A grand opening for the new location will be announced at a later date.
