Funeral service for Mr. Dwayne B. Burton, 50, of Alexander City, was on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 3:30 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home.  Rev. Dick Stark officiated.  Burial followed in the Alexander City Cemetery with veteran’s honors provided by the Alexander City Veteran’s Honor Guard.  The family received friends on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.

Mr. Burton passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Russell Medical Center.  He was born on April 27, 1962 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Tommy L. Burton and Ruby Hayes Burton.  Mr. Burton loved working at Robinson Iron for 20 years.  He enjoyed fishing, cooking on the grill, spending time with his family, friends, and dog, Lola.  He was also a member of the Mason’s.  Mr. Burton was loved dearly by his family and many friends and will be missed greatly.

He is survived by wife of 17 years, Jennifer Jones Peterson of Alexander City; daughter, Haley Peterson of Alexander City; sons, Scott Peterson of Alexander City and Anthony Washam (Jennifer) of Roswell, GA; grandchild, Braxton Washam of Roswell, GA; mother, Ruby H. Hayes Burton of Alexander City; sisters, Glenda Brown (Roger) of Kellyton and Reshanda Griffin (Jimmy) of Cragford; brother, Thomas Burton (Lynn) of Kellyton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy L. Burton and brother, Dwight Burton.
