A Celebration of Life Service for Bethany (Beth) Commander Berry, 31, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Church in the Pines on Lake Martin. Dr. Todd Henderson and Rev. Wayne Cowhick will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Beth passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at UAB Hospital. She was born on January 25, 1982 in Dallas, Texas to Dave Commander and Lynn Pierce Commander. She was a member of Alexander City Methodist Church and was very strong in her faith. She was always thanking God for her many blessings. Beth was a graduate of BRHS Class of 2000 and attended Auburn University where she was a member of the Auburn University Marching Band and also Troy University where she was on the flag line for The Sound of the South Marching Band. Beth was a wonderful daughter and sister, loving mother and a loyal friend to so many. She was an avid Auburn football fan, enjoyed boating and tubing on Lake Martin
She is survived by her parents, Dave and Lynn Commander of Alexander City; daughter, Brooklynn Jade Berry of Alexander City; son, Jackson Chase Murphy of Alexander City; sister, Lisa Commander Peffer (Brad) of Tuscaloosa; niece, Riley Peffer; nephew, Dalton Peffer; grandmother, Johnnie Rahm of Decatur; and grandfather, Jim Pierce (Peggy) of Huntsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to Children’s Harbor, 1 Our Children’s Highway, Children’s Harbor, AL 35010. Also a Trust Account for Beth’s children has been set up at Merrill Lynch. Contributions may be sent to Merrill Lynch c/o MJS, 569 Brookwood Village 5th Floor, Birmingham, AL 35209. Please designate in the memo line for “Beth Berry’s Children Split Equally”.
