Funeral service for Mrs. Leola Cannon Lashley, 84, of Kellyton, will be Monday, March 18, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Kellyton Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Dyess and Rev. Wayne  Henderson will officiate. Mrs. Lashley will lie In State for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Kellyton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lashley passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Chapman Healthcare Center.  She was born on February 3, 1929 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Oscar Cannon and Mertie Ann Motes Cannon.  She was a longtime and active member of Kellyton Baptist Church.  Mrs. Leola loved going to church and she enjoyed singing with the Sunshine Singers.  She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.  She always treated everyone the same and loved giving gifts to everyone.  She devoted 29 years of service to Russell Corporation as a sewing machine operator.  Mrs. Lashley enjoyed tending to flowers and she was an excellent cook with fried okra and peach cobbler being a few of her specialties.  She also enjoyed watching TV, especially Wheel of Fortune and Days of Our Lives. She also loved her dog, Sophie.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Brown (Wilbur Joe) of New Site, Jackie R. Lashley of Kellyton, Jerry Lashley (Connie) of Kellyton, son, Terry Lashley (Diane) of Kellyton, Bobby E. Lashley (Judy) of Kellyton, Janice Davis of Dadeville and Ricky Lashley of Alexander City; grandchildren, Dewayne Burkhalter (Susan), Jeffrey Lashley, Donna Hudson (Keith), Teresa Lashley, Tara Coley, Bobby Walton (Bree), Merranda Blevins (Jason), Erica Lashley, Tyler Lashley, Brady Lashley, Carder Lashley, Ashley Davis, Angel Davis and Kristi Lumpkin (Jody); seventeen great grandchildren; and brother, Melvin Cannon of Wetumpka.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lumus Lashley; brother, Ruben Cannon; and grandson, Jeffry Payne.
