The Benjamin Russell Wildcats continue to slump on the softball field as they dropped a 10-3 decision to Oxford High School.
The loss is the third in four games for the Lady ‘Cats.
Oxford roughed up the BRHS pitchers and the Wildcats were unable to put together enough offense to threaten in the contest.
Haley Milner started for the Lady ‘Cats, giving up four runs in four innings of work.
Sydney Bloodworth was unable to stop the Yellow Jackets’ offense, giving up three runs in one and a third innings.
Taylor Hutto finished the game, pitching the final one and two-third innings.
Hutto gave up a three-run round-tripper during her outing.
Milner and Tatum Gandy were the only sources of offense for the Wildcats.
Milner hit a double and Gandy blasted a solo home run.
Next for BRHS will be a road trip to Rockford as they take on the Central-Coosa Cougars this coming Tuesday.
Junior Varsity will get things started in Rockford, as they begin at 4:30 p.m. The varsity game will follow afterwards.
