The Generals’ roller-coaster start to the season continued as they finished as runners-up in the Handley High School tournament.
HBS beat Woodland 13-5 but lost 5-1 to Cleburne County in the tournament final after an error led to four unanswered runs for Cleburne in the fifth inning.
The Generals are now 2-5 on the year.
Outside of Tyler Meadows at the plate, HBS head coach Jason Johnson said that the team’s consistency is still a huge problem.
“We play well one day and terrible the next,” Johnson said. “We’re getting better in some areas but it’s very frustrating when you think you’re getting there and you can’t make that last out.”
