Honoring black history

Dr. Richard Bailey spoke on Black Women in America: Culture and History at the Adelia M. Russell Library Wednesday in honor of Black History Month.

Bailey talked about the achievements of black women throughout history in fields such as civil rights, the arts and religion. He highlighted the efforts of Phillis Wheatley, Mary McLeod Bethune, Mahalia Jackson and Dinah Washington, among others.
