William David Hogan

William David Hogan, age 55, of Dadeville, Ala. went home to Heaven, Jan. 23, 2013 after several years of suffering with Huntington’s Disease.

David was born Feb. 23, 1957 in Grove Hill, Ala. to Rev. William T. Hogan and Barbara Whatley Hogan. He was preceded in death by his Mother Barbara Whatley Hogan Marchando, of Hallandale, Fla.,

He is survived by:Sisters, Gloria Gittings and John of Auburn, Ala. and Linda Crocker Davis and Terry of Abbeville, Ala. and brother, Jonathan Hogan and Ronnie Lee of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 2 nieces and 4 nephews.

With David’s blessing and permission the family donated his body to science in the department of neurology. Our hope is that even in death; his body might be used as a tool for learning and enlightenment toward a cure.

A wonderfully talented man, David will be remembered for his wood carvings of animals, his beautiful deep baritone singing voice and other musical talents. David’s carpentry skills are still evident in many antebellum homes of the Montgomery area. Most of all, he will be remembered for his love of fellow man and family.

A servant of God, “Mr. David” also created a church bus ministry which met a great need for children for several years.

The family will hold a memorial service on Feb. 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend.
