Dr. Bernard Pearson

Dr. Bernard Pearson, 56, of Birmingham (formerly of Camp Hill) died Friday, February 15, 2013 at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, GA.  Funeral services will be held at Mt. Lovely Baptist Church, 21900 Senator Claude Pepper Dr., Camp Hill, Al., Thursday, February, 21, 2013 at 1;00 P.M. (CST) with Rev. Corey Huguley officiating.  Interment will be in the Camp Hill City Cemetery.  The remains will lie instate at the church one hour before the service.

Dr. Pearson was born October 17, 1956 in Camp Hill, AL to Annie Lou Pearson and the late John Pearson, Sr.  He was baptized and grew up in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Camp Hill and graduated from Edward Bell High School in 1975.

Dr. Pearson attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham where he received the Degree “Doctor of Medicine” in 1982.  He also was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force at the rank of Captain in Los Angeles, CA.

Dr. Pearson received many honors and awards over his career.  Emergency Room Medicine was his specialty.

Over the years, he worked in several hospitals in Alabama.  At the time of his death he was employed with the Jacksonville Medical Center, Jacksonville, AL.

Dr. Pearson truly loved his family.  He was a leader and a multitalented person who gave so much of himself to people.  He was a very fair and compassionate physician.  In addition, he loved good food, football, high tech gadgets, his cars and enjoyed traveling internationally.  One of his most precious trips was when he traveled to Thailand and to China where he visited the “Great Wall of China”.

Dr. Pearson is survived by his devoted wife Duang  Pen “Quan” Pearson, Birmingham; one daughter, Alexandria “Joi” Pearson, Birmingham; one son, Christopher Bernard Pearson (Angela); Tuscaloosa; one step-son; Anthony Wong, Carrrollton, GA; one granddaughter; Christina Pearson; Tuscaloosa; a devoted mother: Annie Lou Pearson, Camp Hill; three brothers; LaSalle Minefield, Union Springs, Howard Pearson (Delores); Camp Hill; John William Pearson, Jr., Camp Hill; one sister:  Mary Francis Holloway (Clinnon), Camp Hill; two brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law in Thailand; a devoted niece: Teaniace Holloway, Birmingham; two very special friends: Melvin McCowan and Calvin Vines and many other relatives and friends.
