Services for Rufus Jackson Sr., 80 of Heidenheimer, Tx., are Monday, 2-18-13, 1:00 p.m., at Great Bethel Baptist Church, Alexander City, AL.  Burial in Alexander City Cemetery, Alexander City, AL                                                                                                                                                                      

Visitation will be Sunday, 2-19-13, from 2 -6 p.m., at Wright’s Funeral Home, Alexander City, AL.

He was born 3-11-32, to Rufus and Sarah Jackson in Tallapoosa County, AL.  He attended school in Alexander City, AL. He retired from the United States Army.  He married Catherine Russell on 6-21-53.   He later retired from the VA Hospital in Temple, TX.  He was a member of Eighth Street Baptist Church, Temple, TX.

Survivors, his wife, Catherine Jackson of Heidenheimer, TX; two sons, Rufus Jackson Jr. of Temple, TX, and

Raymond Jackson of Alexander City; two daughters, Nellie Billingsley of Heidenheimer, TX, and Gloria Jackson of Alexander City; two brothers, Johnnie Jackson of Rialto, Ca., and Billy Jackson of Montgomery, AL; one sister, Jessie Huntley of Alexander City, AL; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
