Annie Pearl Sherrer

Annie Pearl Sherrer, 83, of Jackson Gap, AL, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Chapman Nursing Home and Assisted Living in Alexander City, AL.

Memorial services will be 1:00 pm CST, Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at New Beginning Baptist Church, 1076 Coley Creek Rd., Alexander City with Rev. Ralph Jernigan and Rev. Craig Guy officiating.

Mrs. Sherrer was born May 28, 1929 in Woodbury, GA the daughter of Joe and Della Ross Eggleton.

She had worked for many years at International Playtex in Manchester, GA before moving to Newnan, GA.

After her retirement from Playtex, she worked part time as a care giver for the elderly.

Many may remember her as “Driftwood Annie” for her talent of making floral arrangements from pieces of driftwood.

Mrs. Sherrer was an active member of New Beginning Baptist Church. She most loved spending time with her family and her many friends. Mrs. Sherrer was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Bobby Sherrer.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Melvin Sherrer of Jackson Gap, AL; her sons, Tony Sherrer of Alexander City, Ricky Sherrer and his wife, Deanna of Newnan, Travis Sherrer and his wife, Julie of Newnan; her sister, Mavis Bell of LaFayette, AL; a daughter-in-law, Trisha Sherrer of Woodbury; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
