Camp Hill Police are currently looking into the death of a juvenile that occurred at Lyman Ward Military Academy Tuesday night.

“We are investigating the death of a juvenile that expired at Lyman Ward Military Academy – that is all I can say at this time,” said Roosevelt Finley.

Finley said that the body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensics for an autopsy.

“We suffered a tragedy yesterday with the loss of a young man on our campus,” said Dr. John Coulter, president of Lyman Ward Military Academy. “We extend our sympathy to his family and friends. Out of deference to the family, we cannot make any further comments.”

A memorial service for the deceased will be held at First Universalist Church in downtown Camp Hill on Friday at 2 p.m.

“Our students are continuing their routines, going to classes, and participating in activities while grief counselors are attending to each cadet’s needs,” Coulter said. “We ask that you keep LWMA in your thoughts and prayers.”
