BOE nails down salary, job specifics

The Alexander City Board of Education unanimously voted on specifics for salary and required education for the next superintendent Tuesday at a special called meeting.

Board members agreed to offer a $115,000 minimum annual salary including benefits, which “is negotiable based on the successful candidate’s experience and proven track record of success,” according to board president David Sturdivant.

The board also voted for a master’s degree to be a requirement for all applicants with a doctorate preferred.

Sturdivant said the job opening has been posted as of today.

“This is the beginning date to start accepting applications,” Sturdivant said. “Even if somebody has submitted a resume to our consulting team, they still need to follow up with an application.”

Sturdivant said the application will be available in PDF format on the Alabama Association of School Boards website and the Alexander City Schools website.
