Halliana Road home burns

Published 12:21pm Tuesday, January 29, 2013

The stillness of Saturday morning was broken approximately 3 a.m. as the Alexander City Fire Department responded to the scene of a house fire at 392 Halliana Road.

Firefighters reported that half of the home was engulfed in flames when they arrived on the scene. While most of the exterior walls are still intact, the inside of the home was badly damaged.

Above, the front right corner of the home appears to have borne the brunt of the fire’s fury.

The home’s residents, Kathy Shaneyfelt and her children Rachel and Ryan Pearson, were not home when the fire began. No details on how the fire started are availible at this time, pending results of a fire investigation.
