Funeral service for Mrs. Sarah Faye Funderburk, 86, of Alexander City, will be Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Comer Memorial United Methodist Church.

She will lie in-state one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Lynn Peters and Rev. Sue Parnell will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.

Mrs. Funderburk passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Phenix City Healthcare.  She was born on April 7, 1926 in Weogufka, Alabama to Robert Harlan Forbus and Jennie Fuller Forbus.

She was a member of Comer Memorial United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Funderburk worked as a clerk for Alabama Power Company after working at Avondale Mills in the office.

She enjoyed eating out, shopping, and traveling, and she made a fabulous chocolate cake.

She is survived by her daughters, Amelia McQuiston (Larry) and Mary Ann Funderburk all of Phenix City; grandchild, Emma McQuiston; sister, Kay Wright; sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Pemberton (Jack), Betty Buckner, Shirley Sprayberry, and Winnie Jo Rhodes (Jack); and special cousin, Sue Parnell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Marion Funderburk; her parents; and brother, Rayford Forbus.

The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made Comer Memorial United Methodist Church, 427 E Church St, Alexander City, AL 35010.
