The Dadeville Lady Tigers were unkind hosts to Handley High School, serving up a 52-19 drubbing Friday night.
The game was never in doubt for the home team, as Rae Williams and the DHS Lady Tigers imposed their will upon Handley High School.
Williams led all scorers with 12 points. Janesha Moss had nine points, and Meshae Thomas and Araven Edwards each netted eight points.
The first quarter started slow for both teams, but Dadeville’s advantage in terms of inside scoring and offensive rebounding was apparent from the opening tip as they rolled into the second quarter up 12-4.
Handley struggled to find offense as, including the latter half of the first quarter and the opening half of the second, the visitors could not find the net for points.
Dadeville took advantage of the cold streak, outscoring Handley 17-4 to build its lead to 21 at the break.
Dadeville’s starters did not play for much of the third quarter, but much like the game had gone to that point, the home team didn’t miss a beat, increasing its lead from 21 to 28.
The starters returned at the two minute mark of the third and continued to put the game out of reach as the length and size advantage of DHS continued to be exploited.
DHS ended the third quarter up 47-13.
