Funeral service for Willa Nell Freeman, 85, of Daviston, will be Friday, January 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Calvary Heights Baptist Church. Rev. Jeff Freeman and Bro. Ray Dunn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Freeman passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Arbor Springs Nursing Home in Auburn, AL. She was born on April 2, 1927 in Tallapoosa County, Al to Willie Ulysses Meigs and Leila Frances Drake Meigs. She was an active member of Daviston Baptist Church.
Mrs. Freeman was a much loved lady who had a vibrant personality. She was heavily involved with her church and enjoyed serving in many capacities, especially the card ministry. She was also a selfless person who loved her children, grandchildren, her daughter-in-law, Pam, and her nieces and nephews like her own.
She was a great cook and made a wonderful pound cake which she shared with many people in the community.
Mrs. Freeman worked as an Office Manager for 45 plus years for a Chiropractic Clinic in Alexander City, AL.
She is survived by her son, Jeff T. Freeman (Pam), of Daviston, AL; daughter, Kay Cotney Statler (Keith), of Huntersville, NC; granddaughters, Emily Dixon, Leah Varnell, Hannah Thompson and Holly Williams; grandson, Andy Martin and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hayward Freeman; parents; brothers, James Ralph Meigs and Cecil Harlan Meigs and her sister, Cenus Denton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Daviston Baptist Church.
