Funeral service for Mrs. Cynthia “Cindy” Jo Carr, 69, of Alexander City, will be Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Burke, Rev. Tom Porter, and Randy Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carr passed away on Friday, January 10, 2013 at Russell Medical Center. She was born on June 16, 1943 in Utica, New York to Albert Whitmore Hartley and Elizabeth Ellen Heald Hartley. She worked as the Deli Manager at Koon’s Korner for several years and also worked as a Deli Manager for Special Services at Russell Corp Number 1 Mill.
Mrs. Carr was an excellent cook, enjoyed helping others, and tending to her indoor flowers. She was an avid Alabama, New England Patriots, and Atlanta Braves fan. Mrs. Carr loved her late husband of 31 years, John, dearly and loved her family and grandchildren immensely.
She is survived by her daughters, Kelli Ann Guy (Johnny) and Debra Clayton all of Alexander City; son, Kenneth Alan Quinby of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Jacob Darryl Guy, Justin Lynn Clayton, Dean Quinby, Amber Eileen Quinby, and Jocelyn Quinby; mom, June Hartley of Alexander City; step-sister, Elizabeth Duncan; and numerous close friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Carr; son, Richard Hartley Quinby; and her parents.
