Polished fingernails top New Year’s resolution list

Published 12:23pm Friday, January 4, 2013

I suppose that my New Year’s resolution – or revolution, as I misspelled it on Facebook last week – is the same as it was last year: to consistently paint my fingernails.

I am always jealous of women with perfect manicures. They seem to have it together. I imagine them to have perfectly neat make up drawers and to be experts at utilizing the roll hair brush.

I know that I could get weekly manicures. I do not like the sensation of other people filing my nails. But I love buying nail polishes that I will only use a few times.

All of that being said, my nails are currently painted Mink Muffs by Essie. It is a rather boring greige (gray/beige combo) color.

They are chipped. Personality flaw? Perhaps. I am a work in progress.

I have the bottle of polish sitting right by my laptop. If I can see it, hopefully I will do a touch up. Cheers to that!

Happenings are a bit slow this week with everyone getting back into their routines. I feel like I had two Mondays this week, and I know that is not normal!

Jonathan Bloom and Brian Hinton are playing at JR’s Saturday night from 8:30-11:30 p.m. Get out of those sweatpants and support your local eateries and musicians. Break that diet with fried pickles dipped in ranch.

There is a football game on Monday night that may be of interest. Playhouse Cinemas will be showing the BCS game LIVE and at no charge on Monday beginning at 7 p.m. What a great thing!

If you are traveling to the BCS game, please text live phone pictures to Lake Martin Living, and we will include them in our party pics! My email address is
