Local stores to offer post-Christmas salesPublished 11:48am Thursday, December 27, 2012
Local stores are offering sales on things Santa might not have brought.
“I think it’s very important to shop local,” said Amy Hill at Cloud Nine. “We want people to continue to shop locally after Christmas just like they did before. We want to keep tax dollars local.”
Hill said Cloud Nine is having a large after Christmas sale to offer residents an incentive to shop locally.
“All of our Christmas items are 50 percent off,” Hill said.
Hill said everyday items are also on sale at Cloud Nine.
“Our apparel and boots are 25-50 percent off,” Hill said. “Our sale alley is now 75 percent off, and our food items are buy one get one free.”
Carlisle Drugs is also offering discounts to after Christmas shoppers with Christmas items 50 percent off and all non-Christmas items discounted 20 percent.
Little Black Dress will also be offering major markdowns on winter apparel and 25 percent off the lowest price on sale items.
“We have to make room for our spring styles so winter merchandise must go,” said Little Black Dress owner Stephanie Smith.
Sale items are also available in Dadeville.
“We’re having 40 percent on Christmas and 20 percent on most of the store,” said Sharyn Marshall of Plantation House in Dadeville.
Marshall said they have never done an after Christmas sale before.
“A lot of things that we normally don’t put on sale are on sale,” Marshall said. “We just decided to say ‘Happy New Year.’”
The store will be open New Year’s Day.
Fred’s in Dadeville is offering 20–75 percent off on Christmas items, excluding trees, wrapping paper and bags, according to Judy Nichols, assistant manager.
