Upcoming local sporting events

Here are a few upcoming sporting events involving locals and high schools across the area. Look for full coverage on the following events in the upcoming Tuesday and Wednesday editions of the Outlook.
Benjamin Russell High School: The BRHS wrestling team will travel to Thompson High School (Alabaster) to participate in the Alabama Duals.
The event is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22.
Central-Coosa High School: The Childersburg Classic continues through Saturday. Central-Coosa’s boys basketball team takes on the Rams of Francis Marion High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday night. The Cougars will conclude their tournament action on Saturday night when they face Dadeville High School. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Cooper Community Center Christmas B’Ball “Shoot-out”: A community basketball three-point contest as well as a six-team tournament continues at Cooper Community Center through Saturday, Dec.22.
Saturday’s action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., where the six adult teams will compete against one another in a double-elimination style tournament. There will also be a three-point shooting contest.
