Baird’s comments need justification

Published 11:02am Saturday, December 22, 2012

Dear Editor,

This responds to Mr. Baird’s comments. Woody, the comments in our letter were from my wife too … she has the same views on the topic as I do.

Please justify why you think it necessary for anyone other than the military to own an assault weapon capable of firing hundreds of rounds in a very short timeframe.  Simple question … short answer please.  And in the interest of full disclosure, please acknowledge that you sell such weapons.  That should help explain to readers your position.

One final thought.  Please don’t wrap yourself in the American flag as a veteran and patriot as if that give you unique qualifications.  Others have served too and for many more years than you.”
