Cougars, Generals prep for holiday tournament action

Two local teams are preparing for tournament action this weekend as the Central-Coosa County High School and Horseshoe Bend High School varsity basketball teams will be in action.
The Cougars will try to continue their three-game winning streak as they are competing in the four-team Childersburg Classic.
Rounding out the field are Carroll High School, Francis Marion High School and Dadeville High School.
Central-Coosa’s boys tipped off its versus Carroll Thursday night.
The Cougars will tangle with Francis Marion on Friday at 5 p.m. while finishing up the tournament with a match-up against Dadeville at 6:30 p.m.
The Generals will participate in the Central-Clay Christmas tournament.
Along with HBHS and Central-Clay, Reeltown High School and Beulah High School will also participate in the tournament,
The boys squad opened tourney play versus the hosting Volunteers.
On Friday night the General will face the winner of the Reeltown/Beulah game.
The Lady Generals began tournament play versus the Lady Rebels.
The HBHS girls will face the winner of the contest between the Central-Clay Lady Vols and the Beulah Lady Bobcats.
