‘Something needs to be done’

Published 11:48am Tuesday, December 18, 2012

Dear Editor,

The media tells it all – the shootings in Newtown, Conn., are devastating to so many people.

My wife and I are hunters, and we have guns and shoot them well.

Twenty children died today for no reason. This is not acceptable. Shopping centers, movie theatres, schools, malls, trains, colleges, public areas – we do not need weapons that shoot 20–30 or more bullets.

We are not supposed to be at war with our own people.  I know these people have mental problems – we don’t know the answers – but some new answers need to be found so people will stop dying.

We are Second Amendmaent believers, but something needs to be done.
