Lady Cats topped by Aggies

Sylacauga High School junior standout Shakayla Thomas hopped on the Benjamin Russell Lady Wildcats to the tune of 19 first half points as Sylacauga defeated BRHS 60-36.
Thomas used her athletic ability to slash through the Lady Wildcat defense, as well as an impressive jump shot, finishing the game with 40 points.
Sylacauga had a 16-6 lead at the and of the first quarter. The Lady Aggies took a 32-15 lead at the half.
Benjamin Russell cut the lead to 39-23 with four minutes left in the third quarter, but the Lady Aggies closed once again for the final.
Cookie Kelley had 13 points for Benjamin Russell, while Jernika Russell added nine.
BRHS head coach Ron Rowe had no comment after the game.
