FUNERAL SERVICES for Mary Lou Jones, age 84, of Smyrna, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Chapel of Bass Funeral Home.

Minister Brent Rice will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 28,  2012 from 1-2 pm at Bass Funeral Home.

Ms. Jones passed away on November 25,2012 at her residence.

She was born on  August 8, 1928 in Coosa County to John Henry and Ida B. Austin Dobson.  Ms. Jones worked as a sewing machine operator in the Textile Industry.

She enjoyed fishing and Alabama football.

She is survived by 3 sons:  William Frank Ivey and Robert Jones both of Sylacauga, and Chris Jones of Goodwater, 1 stepson, Jackie Jones and wife Lora of Auburn, AL, 3 daughters; Janis Petty and Johnnie Petty and husband Michael all of Scottsboro and Sherri Dunham and husband Charles of Smyrna. 1 sister; Willodean Robinson of Sylacauga. 12 grandchildren; Terri McCullen, Monica Petty, Kelley Bryant, Melanie Gearhart, Gary Wayne Gearhart, Laci Dawn Jones, John Jones, Sam Thomas. Chase Dunham, Charles Lee Dunham, Craig Dunham, and Cole Dunham.  4 great grandchildren: Ivy Bryant, Ethan Bryant, Jacob Gearhart, and Connor Dunham.  9 step grandchildren: Jackie, Kenny, Shelley, Debra, Dickie, Berry, Jennifer, Susan and Betsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Ida B. Dobson, Husband, Samuel A. Jones, and 2 sons, Gary Wayne Gearhart and Maurice “Dicky” Jones.
