The 2012 tip off

Published 9:27am Tuesday, November 20, 2012

The Horseshoe Bend Lady Generals will tip off the local high school basketball season tonight when they host newly formed Central-Clay High School with games beginning at 5 p.m. in New Site.
Central-Clay is in their first year of existence and has a student body made up of formerly Clay County High School and Lineville High School.
Horseshoe Bend will be led by senior guard Ranley Clayton, who returns after being the leading scorer for the Lady Generals at the end of the 2011 season.
Clayton earned All-Outlook honors in 2011, averaging over 10 points per game over the course of the season before the Lady Generals lost in postseason play.
Horseshoe Bend is in area play this season with county rival Reeltown, as well as Lafayette, Lanett, and Randolph County high schools.
The junior varsity game is set for a 5 p.m. start, while the varsity girls tip off at 6 p.m.craft
