Former Dadeville High School softball standout Reba Hawkins has signed a full scholarship to the University of North Alabama.
Hawkins, a 2011 graduate of Dadeville High School, finished her freshman year at Shelton State Community College with a .480 batting average with 43 runs, 13 doubles, 18 triples, 84 hits, three homeruns and 39 total RBIs along with 18 stolen bases.
The batting average, hit count and 18 triples were all Shelton State single season records.
Hawkins also earned third team NJCAA All-American honors, second team NFCA honors, first team NFCA All-South honors, first team NJCAA All-Region XXII and first team ACCC All-Northern Division accolades.
“Reba had one of the best seasons we have ever had here at Shelton State.  She led the nation in triples and was one of the playmakers on offense and defense,” Shelton State head coach Buddy Boyle said.
“She is signing at a program on the rise and new Coach (Jason) Anderson has done a great job of putting together a great class.  Reba also excelled in the classroom and was a National Fastpitch Coaches Association Academic All-American which shows that she truly is a student athlete.”
Hawkins was a 2011 All-Outlook softball player during her senior year at Dadeville High School.
