Alex City 9U soccer wins state title

The 9-and-under Alex City youth soccer team won the state title Sunday afternoon in Dothan.
The tournament was a round robin format, and Alex City dominated all four games that they played.
On Saturday, Alex City topped Troy 1-0 before defeating Dothan Blue 5-1 in the afternoon game.
Alex City started Sunday with a 7-0 win over Dothan Silver and then defeated Jacksonville by the mercy rule to win the title.
Andy Ramirez had 10 goals for Alex City, while Dax Culligan added four goals.
The championship is the second consecutive 9U title for Alex City.
The team was coached by Chris Isbell, Gerad Martin, Chris Sims and David Kelly.
