William L. Peppers

Funeral services with military honors provided by the Alexander City Honor Guard for Mr. William L. Peppers, age 80, of Alexander City, will be held Fri. Nov. 16, 2012 at 2 PM in the chapel of Bass Funeral Home. Rev. Donald DeLee will officiate. Burial will follow in the Russell Farms Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thurs. Nov. 15, 2012 from 5-8 PM at Bass Funeral Home.

Mr. Peppers passed away on November 13, 2012 at Bill Nichols State Veterans Home. He was born in Greene County on March 11, 1932 to R. T. Peppers and Sadie Davis Peppers. He was a member of Russell Farms Baptist Church and worked with the Alex. City Board of Education as a bus driver.

He is survived by three sons, Billy Peppers of Jackson’s Gap, Gary Peppers (Linda) and Steve Peppers all of Ourtown; three daughters, Diane Martin of Lake Guntersville, Margaret Kellum (Jerry) of Jackson ‘s Gap and Teresa Ashworth of Vincent; one brother, Howard Peppers; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R. T. and Sadie Peppers, two sisters, Willie Pearl Smith and Sarah Johnson, three grandchildren, J.T. Sims, Wendy Ford and Amber Manley and daughter-in-law, Patsy Peppers.
