Art 4 All invites you to Paint 4 Your Pancreas

Published 11:43am Thursday, November 15, 2012

One Alexander City 10-year-old is inviting you to paint for your pancreas from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Art 4 All.

Hannah Walton, founder of Art 4 All, a nonprofit organization that provides free education to children and schools, has partnered with the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research to raise money and awareness for pancreatic cancer.

Walton said she got the idea for the fundraiser after her grandfather, Zirt Walton Jr., passed away in February from pancreatic cancer.

“PopPop was an amazing person,” Walton said. “He never met a stranger, and he never turned a person away if he needed help. He is one of the many reasons I try to help others.”

Walton said her grandfather’s service to others made her want to put her talents to good use.

“I want to follow his example by using my talent of painting to do what I can to help other people who have gone through and are going through the same thing we did,” Walton said. “I miss him so much and painting is one way I can honor him and keep his memory alive.”

The fundraiser will take place at the Art 4 All building in Alexander City, 363 Scott Road, and all proceeds will benefit the Hirshberg Foundation.

The cost for Paint 4 Your Pancreas is $10 for children and $20 for adults. To register, visit www.art4al.org or call 800-979-0802.
