Alexander City fell into fashion for a good cause Thursday night at the Fall Into Fashion Fundraiser hosted by Cloud Nine and Little Black Dress.

More than 100 tickets were sold and proceeds benefited the Alexander City Schools Education Foundation.

The fundraiser was held at Jake’s and featured 26 models and a total of 52 outfits.

“One thing I heard people say is they were amazed by the quantity, quality and style of the clothes available in Alex City,” said Little Black Dress owner Stephanie Smith. “I heard several people say ‘Why would anyone ever leave town to go shopping?’”

Smith said the models showcased outfits for church, Christmas parties, football stadiums and casual everyday wear.

“We had a great variety of outfits between the two stores,” Smith said. “We had some of everything. I thought it was amazing.”

Sarah Neighbors, owner of Cloud Nine, said she believes the event was a success.

“It was great,” Neighbors said. “We had a great turnout. Jake was a wonderful host, the food was great, and Robert Gunn was an awesome emcee.”

Smith said it is a tradition both stores hope to continue.

“It was so much fun,” Smith said. “Everybody had a fabulous time. We had people wanting to be put on the waiting list to get tickets for next year.”
