No. 1 CACC wins District IV tourney

It was another win in the 2012 fall season for the Central Alabama Community College golfers Tuesday, as the No. 1 Trojans managed to hold off Brevard Community College at the District IV Preview Championship in Pendleton, SC this past Monday and Tuesday.
The event was a 54-hole tournament played on an a very tricky Boscobel Golf Club.
Although the golf course was not long by any standards, golfers had to manage their game to score well with the courses very undulated, small, firm and fast greens.
The Trojans did so in the first two rounds, playing it even par and developing a 10 shot lead over Brevard and 20 shot lead over Wallace State, however CACC lost their footing and fell back 8 shots to win by only two.
The Trojans were led by sophomore J.M. O’Toole and freshman Tim Walker, who both finished in second place only 1-shot behind the tournament winner.
Presently, Golfstat has the Trojans ranked No. 1 in NJCAA D-I Golf in the nation and unless strange circumstances occur, CACC is expected to remain in that position.
The Trojans conclude their fall season with their home Tournament at Willow Point Country Club Nov. 12-13.
