CACC to host Adult College Career Day

Published 12:16pm Thursday, October 25, 2012

Central Alabama Community College invites anyone interested in attending college to visit their Childersburg location Friday.

CACC will be hosting Adult College Career Day beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 26 in the Margie Sanford Building on the Childersburg campus.

“If you are interested in attending CACC for the spring semester regardless of location this is an event you do not want to miss,” said Phyllis Jews, Adult Education Department secretary at CACC.

Jews said anyone who is interested in attending CACC can attend the education day even if they are not going to enroll at the Childersburg campus.

“We’re one college so this is not just for Childersburg – this is to help an individual interested in going back to school,” Jews said. “It’s useful to everyone in communities of the CACC service area because we have one admissions department and one financial aid office.”

Jews said the education day will give prospective students information on enrollment and financial aid.

“This event will help individuals who are unemployed take the first step to go back to school to learn a new skill or trade and hopefully become gainfully employed,” Jews said.

She said representatives from the CACC employment office at the event to answer questions about future employment.

Programs of study include nursing, welding, truck driving, office careers, cosmetology, business and more.
