Spotlight honors for Beck, Holt
Published 9:33am Wednesday, October 24, 2012Two more local players have earned AHSAA Spotlight Honors for their Week 8 performances.
Dadeville senior quarterback Kaleb Beck and Horseshoe Bend senior linebacker Luke Holt have both been honored once again by the AHSAA.
Beck was 16-of-22 passing for 254 yards and two touchdowns while also adding another rushing touchdown as Dadeville topped Class 4A No. 10 Handley High School at home 52-46 in a Region 3 victory Friday.
Holt racked up 14 tackles and three for losses in a 29-28 win over Randolph County last week on the road.
The win gives the Generals the opportunity to play for the No. 2 seed in Class 2A Region 5, meaning that they can lock up a home playoff game with a win over Lanett on the road Friday night.
