Three locals earn AHSAA Honors

Dadeville quarterback Kaleb Beck, Horseshoe Bend quarterback Chase Cheaney and Reeltown runningback Tywone Stewart all earned AHSAA Honors for their Week 7 performances last week.
Beck, was 13-of-16 passing for 245 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 55 yards and another score in the Tigers’ 33-6 win over Beulah High School.
Dadeville is 7-0 on the 2012 season and will host Region foe and 2011 Class 3A state champion Handley High School Friday night at Tiger Stadium.
Cheaney finished Friday’s game 18-of-23 passing for 238 yards and two touchdowns and added two rushing touchdowns in the Generals’ 56-28 win over Prattville Christian.
With the win, Horseshoe Bend is off to the best start in school history at 6-1.
Stewart rushed for 266 yards on 17 carries and four touchdowns as the Rebels cruised to another Region win over Montgomery Academy, 34-10.
