It is homecoming week in the small community of Reeltown and the Loachapoka Indians (2-2) are coming down the road for another rivalry match-up.
“These two teams have played a lot of years,” said Reeltown head coach Jackie O’Neal.
“The kids have grown up knowing each other, the coaches know each other and even the parents know each other.”
The Rebels (3-1) are coming off of their most impressive win-to-date last week when they topped Randolph Co. 28-7 at Nix-Webster Stadium.
Randolph County was undefeated at the time.
“We’re starting to really come around and be healthy,” O’Neal said.
“We’re starting to see what we can do if we have the right guys in the right positions also.”
Reeltown was led by senior defensive tackle Jestavia Norris, who finished the Randolph County game with 15 total tackles.
On the offensive side of the ball, senior tailback Tywone Stewart finally had the big game Rebel fans were looking for, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns, along with returning a kickoff 88 yards for a score.
Teamed with Stewart is his brother Ariko, who has over 300 rushing yards through the first four games.
Both Stewart’s have combined for 740 yards and nine touchdowns in 2012.
Reeltown and Loachpoka are set for a 7 p.m. kickoff tomorrow night at Nix-Webster Stadium in Reeltown.
