Published 9:36am Tuesday, September 18, 2012Central-Coosa High School achieved victory for the first time since the fifth week of the 2010 football season with a 28-7 victory over Thorsby High School this past weekend.
“It was big for the program as a whole,” said second year head coach Richard Bell, who won his first game as head coach with the victory.
“I’ve got assistants and players that are working hard on and off the field and it gets our confidence up to win a region game.”
Central (1-2) got a pin-point passing performance from quarterback Xavier Moon, who threw for 197 yards on 11-of-16 passing in the win.
Coosa will now try to even their record at 2-2 with a win over B.B. Comer this coming Friday night at home in Rockford.
“They are going to run the power-I right at us, so I want us to be consistent on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball,” Bell said.
“The guys are buying into what we are doing.”
Central-Coosa and B.B. Comer will kickoff at 7 p.m. Friday night in Rockford.
