Published 10:39am Wednesday, September 12, 2012Funeral Services for Mrs. Geraldine “Queen“ Queen., age 63, of Goodwater, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. Amazing Grace Ministries. Rev. Mike Price will officiate. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 5-8 p.m. at Bass Funeral Home.
Mrs. Queen passed away on Sept. 10 at her residence. She was born on January 17, 1949 in Winston County to J.D. Queen and Freda Wilkins Queen. She was a member of Goodwater Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Jerry Queen of Goodwater; one son, Neal Shaw (Elicia) of Hollins; three daughters, Robin Schmidt (Johnny) of Rockford, Teresa Courington (Michael) of Vincent, and Tina Harris of Goodwater; two step-daughters, Geri Brown (Phillip) of Equality and Jennifer Lucas of Hanover; two brothers, Roger Wayne Queen (Marie) of Peckerwood and Willie Joe Queen (Glenda) of Goodwater; two sisters, Jane Caldwell of Alex.City and Betty Crumbley (Ronny) of Smyrna; nine grandchildren, Anna and Christopher Courington,Cody and Jonah Schmidt, Travis and Dustin Shaw, Try and Kyle Brown and Olivia Lucas and one great grandchild, Grady Shaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Freda Queen, one sister, Sue Caldwell and one brother, Terry Queen.
