A simulcast will reach more than 600 churches across the world in at least 11 countries – one of those being First United Methodist Church in Alexander City.

Beth Moore with Travis Cottrell will speak on women’s needs and concerns to about 250,000 women around the world. Women in Alexander City can hear the message at the FUMC Arbor Sept. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“She is a world-renowned author and teacher,” said Helen Walton, one of the event organizers. “Even if you’re unchurched or you have a friend who’s unchurched, it will be a wonderful opportunity.”

Walton said this is the third time they have done one of her simulcasts, and they are always well-attended.

According to an online description of this interdenominational event, Moore “follows the leading of the Holy Spirit to prepare a specific message for each of her events.”

Walton said the simultaneous broadcast to hundreds of different groups is part of what makes this event so special.

“It’s one huge church service – that’s the wonderful thing about modern technology,” Walton said.

The event is being co-sponsored with West End Baptist Church. The cost is $10 per person, which includes lunch, and Walton encouraged people to purchase their tickets prior to the event because seating is limited.
