The Lake Martin Search and Rescue squad hosted fall training for the Alabama Associations of Rescue Squads Saturday, Sept. 8 at D.A.R.E. Park.

Four dive squads participated in the practice. Above, Etowah County divers get instructions from John Gardner, Lake Martin Search and Rescue President.

More than nine dogs from Saratec K-9 Unit in Madison County, Ala., joined Spanky Possum and her owner, Faye Ingram, of Lake Martin Search and Rescue for land search practice. Ingram thanked Alabama Power for allowing them to use D.A.R.E. Park and said she hopes more people from the community will get involved with the group.

The squad currently has no divers and one certified rescue dog.
