Published 9:04am Saturday, September 8, 2012The new Alexander City Tractor Supply Company store will hold its grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 8, with specially priced merchandise Sept. 6 – 9, according to Store Manager Candace Ferguson. The store officially opened for business Aug. 25.
The Alexander City location is Tractor Supply Company’s 37th store in Alabama and employs 13 team members. The facility has 21,660 square feet, including sales floor and support service space.
Tractor Supply Company is the largest retail farm and ranch supply store chain in the United States and has been operating in Alabama since 1997.
“Alexander City is a great location for Tractor Supply Company because our neighbors in the area live the ‘Out Here’ lifestyle,” Ferguson said. “We are centrally located for the numerous pet lovers, livestock owners, farmers and ranchers in the community. We invite everyone to come see the variety of products we carry. There is something here for everyone, and our friendly, knowledgeable team is here to provide the legendary Tractor Supply customer service.”
Ferguson joined Tractor Supply in 2008 as a team leader at the Millbrook location. Prior to joining Tractor Supply, she spent a year with Montgomery law enforcement completing her accreditation for her criminal justice degree. The Millbrook native is involved with her church and enjoys riding horses and showing quarter horses in local, national and world competitions.
As store manager, Ferguson oversees all store operations, including receiving, inventory control and merchandising, as well as customer and team member relations.
To celebrate the grand opening of the store, shoppers will receive 10 percent off their first purchase, up to $100, from Sept. 6-9 and can enter to win prizes including store gift cards, pet feed, clothing, power tools, a lawn tractor and a chain saw. Free Tractor Supply Company baseball-style hats will also be given away while supplies last.
On Saturday, the grand opening event will feature train rides, mowers available for test drives and boiled peanuts for sale, benefitting the local 4-H club.
Regular operating hours for the store, located in the former Farmers Home Furniture space at 1556 Mill Square, are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
