Tigers set to open Region at ECHS

Dadeville High School (1-0) allowed more than 300 rushing yards to Class 2A rival Reeltown last week and the Tigers are up against another run-based offense tomorrow night when they go on the road to Elmore County to open up Region play.
“I want to see our guys in the middle stop the run and push the ball carriers to the outside,” said Dadeville head coach Richard White, whose Tiger squad gave up over 150 rushing yards up the middle of their defensive front against Reeltown.
“Elmore County has switched their offense from the spread to the flex wishbone with the focus of running the ball more this year.
“I want to see some intensity from our front seven to get out and stop them from the start.”
Elmore County (1-0) is coming off of a week one victory over Alabama Christian, 35-7.
“We didn’t attempt but seven passes last week against Reeltown, and that is low for us, but we want to establish the run and we were able to do that so we stuck with it,” said White, whose quarterback Kaleb Beck only completed two passes against Reeltown in week one, both to Terry Toler.
“I think the offensive line definitely built up some confidence after week one, and that is big for those guys because we are going to rely on the run game week in and week out.”
Dadeville and Elmore County are set for a 7 p.m. kickoff tomorrow night in Eclectic.
