The Pride of Alexander City invites you to breakfast.

The Benjamin Russell High School bands will host Breakfast with The Pride Saturday, Aug. 25 beginning at 7 a.m.

Pancakes and sausage will be served from 7-9 a.m., and the cost is $5 per plate.

At 9 a.m., the band will preview the 2012 half show, “Once in a Blue Moon.”

“We always try to have a preview event for the parents,” said Band Director Dale Bloodworth. “They are the ones who invest in the kids.”

The band usually does its preview in the evening. This year will be the first morning preview of the show.

“We’re doing something we’ve never done before,” Bloodworth said. “We wanted more people to be able to enjoy it.”

The pancake breakfast will serve as a fundraiser, as well as, a preview event and funds will go toward the band’s expenses.

“Every little bit helps,” Bloodworth said. “Our transportation costs are incredibly expensive.”

The event will be held outside and participants are encouraged to bring chairs. All members of the community are welcome.
