Summer Grind
Published 9:55am Tuesday, July 17, 2012In the mid-July heat, the Benjamin Russell Wildcat football team is in full blast preparing for the upcoming 2012 football season.
“We’re looking good right now, but we aren’t anywhere close to where we want to be,” BRHS head football coach Danny Horn said.
“Our goal is to get all these kids to understand what we want from them everyday.”
Horn also added that building depth is important during these summer workouts.
“We’ve got room to build depth on the offensive line and in the defensive secondary,” said Horn, in his third year at BRHS.
“Our guys are getting in some good work and working hard to get better.”
Benjamin Russell has completed the installation of all of their offensive and defensive packages for the 2012 season, as the Wildcats will continue to fine tune until the official start of summer practice on August 6.
“We’ve got everything put in that we want to be put in right now,” Horn said.
“By no means are we ready, but I think when it’s time for the season to roll around, we’ll be ready to go.”
Benjamin Russell will kick off the 2012 football season at home against Opelika on Aug. 31.
