Cryptside service for Lt. Col. Leo T. Solomon, USAF, (ret.), age 84, of Alexander City, will be Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Hillview Mausoleum. Rev. John Mann will officiate and full military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.  The family will receive friends on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Lt. Col. Solomon passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery.  He was born on June 6, 1928 in Roy, New Mexico to the parents Frank and Elizabeth Solomon.  He graduated from Roy High School and then attended and graduated from Texas A&M, College Station.
After graduating from Texas A&M, he directly entered the United States Air Force as Second Lieutenant and retired as Lieutenant Colonel after 26 years of service. He and his wife Billie Carol enjoyed traveling abroad and state side throughout his career.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, he decided to pursue education in the field of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. He then taught in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at CACC for 10 years before officially retiring.  He had a great love of the outdoors having grownup on the ranch in New Mexico. He also enjoyed playing golf, his Texas Aggies and spending time with family and friends.  He took great pleasure in helping others and could fix anything.  He loved his family very much.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Billie Carol Mask Solomon of Alexander City;  daughter, Aleecia Carol Abbott (Mike) of Daphne; son, Thomas Cole Solomon (Stephanie) of Fairhope; and grandsons, Cole Solomon and Will Solomon.
