The Record received information that Councill Middle School Principal Glenda Menniefee was no longer serving as principal, but neither the school nor the superintendent of Tallapoosa County Board of Education will confirm any further details regarding the matter.
Calls to the CMS office for Menniefee were directed to Chad McKelvey, who was referred to as the acting interim principal by the office receptionist.
McKelvey directed all comments to the central office.
Karen White, board member for the BOE, said that Menniefee is on leave.
“She is on administrative leave until the end of the school year,” White said.
White directed reporters to the central office for further comment.
“We cannot comment on personnel matters,” said Phillip Baker, superintendent of the Tallapoosa County Board of Education.
Calls to the board of education’s attorney were not immediately returned.
